"Avenue CDC operates in the greater Houston Metropolitan area with their focus being  in the neighborhoods north and northwest of Downtown.  They provide a holistic revitalization program in one of Houston's oldest and most diverse inner-city communities.  Avenue CDC emphasizes homeownership and financial empowerment through the development of quality single-family homes for purchase by low- and moderate-income households and by providing free homebuyer education and counseling services as well as training and tutoring in financial literacy.  Avenue CDC also provides a range of rental housing and resident services to very low-income families earning less than 60% of area median income."
