"Dominion CDC is a non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation created in 1993 to promote, foster and initiate affordable housing, economic development, education, and human and social service projects that would have a positive sustaining impact on targeted low to moderate income communities in Houston. Dominion CDC is 'transforming dreams into reality through community development and people empowerment.' Dominion aims to build 'a model community,' complete with every major component required for wholesome habitation, economic empowerment and family development. Their goal is to seize every opportunity to take a proactive approach to community development that is fueled by God's power, accomplished through God's people, for God's purpose, to God's praise!" Dominion CDC's current projects and programs include: Dominion Estates - An 85-unit master planned community in Northwest Houston consisting of 39 single-family detached homes; 46 townhomes with 49 additional townhomes scheduled for completion in May 2007. Dominion Square Apartments - A 136-unit apartment complex located in Northwest Houston. Dominion Plaza - A 38,000 square foot retail center designed to facilitate a mixture of economic, educational and social interests. The Dominion CDC is a certified HUD Homebuyer Counseling Agency providing classes for first time homebuyers and offering services in the following areas: credit counseling, financial management, default counseling, reverse mortgage counseling and pre-purchase counseling.
