Local Initiatives Support Corporation-Houston (LISC)

Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is a national organization with a community focus.  LISC helps resident-led, community-based development organizations transform distressed communities and neighborhoods into healthy, sustainable ones.  By providing capital, technical expertise, training and information, LISC supports the development of local leadership and the creation of affordable housing, commerical, industrial and community facilities, businesses and jobs.  They help neighbors build communities.

LISC mobilizes corporate, government and philanthropic support to provide local community development organizations with:

1. Loans, grants and equity investments.
2. Local, statewide, and national policy support.
3. Technical and management assistance.
